Welcome to the Windows version of the Egyptian Arabic Dictionary. In this version, there are six main views:
You can select one of these views by clicking on the appropriate tab at the top of the window. There are also tabs to access the Settings and Sound views.The word, verb and example views can be accessed by right-clicking on a word in one of the any other view.
The widget view is a more compact version of the search view: it stays on top of other applications, which means that you can use it at the same time as using a web browser or word processor. You can access it by clicking on the button on the search view.
In all of the views, some items are in colour and others are black or grey. All of the coloured items have special options: point the mouse at a coloured item and check the status bar at the bottom of the window to see what options are available.
Whilst you are using the dictionary, you can get help by clicking on the at the top right of the display. This will take you directly to the help page for the current view. Each help page is a web page that explains how to use the view. It gives details about the information provided. It also has a menu, like the one at the top of this page, which offers links to:
